WalkingPad R2 quick verdict
The WalkingPad R2 sits between a walking pad and a compact treadmill. With the rail down it works for desk walking, while the 12 km/h (7.5 mph) top speed gives you the option of jogging and shorter runs when the rail is raised.
The 120 cm (47.2 in) running area and 1.25 CHP motor are the reasons I would not buy it for regular running mileage. It is better suited to walking with the occasional faster session.

I judge the R2 in the context of the job it is designed to do – walking plus light jogging or running in a foldable 2-in-1 design. I focused on how the main features affect real buying decisions rather than treating every line of the specification as equally important.
- Walking suitability – belt length and width, speed, controls and whether the machine fits the way you plan to accumulate steps.
- Build and practicality – machine weight, user capacity, frame type, dimensions, storage and how realistic it is to place and move at home.
- Technology and ownership – console or controls, app choice, warranty and recurring themes in model-specific customer feedback.
For this review I focused on walking and jogging space, motor, speed, folding, controls and app support. I use the current UK specification as the starting point and focus on how the main features affect real buying decisions. I do not assume an overseas version is identical to the model sold here.

Who is the WalkingPad R2 best for?
The R2 is a good fit if walking is the main job but you also want the option of jogging or shorter runs.
If regular running, incline or very easy daily moving matters more, I would choose another model.
What Stands Out
Walking and jogging in one machine – With the rail down it works as a walking pad, while the 12 km/h (7.5 mph) top speed gives you the option of jogging when the rail is raised.
Good walking dimensions – The 120 x 44 cm (47.2 x 17.3 in) belt gives you a good amount of room for walking.
Flexible controls and apps – FootSenseâ„¢, remote control, KS Fit and Kinomap give you several ways to use it.
Compact folding – The deck folds in half and the rail collapses to reduce the stored footprint.
Things to consider
Short for regular running – The belt is a good walking length, but taller runners and longer strides will want more room for regular running.
Better suited to walking and light jogging – The motor is better suited to walking and light jogging than repeated high-mileage running.
Frequent moving takes some effort – The transport wheels help, but you still need to lift and control the machine when moving it.
No incline – If hill walking matters to you, the R2 is not the right model.
A CLOSER LOOK
How the WalkingPad R2 performs in key areas
RUNNING COMFORT
Walking and running area
The 120 x 44 cm (47.2 x 17.3 in) belt is a good size for walking and gives you more width than the narrowest pads.
For jogging and running, the 120 cm (47.2 in) length is the limit. I would choose a longer treadmill if you are tall or plan regular mileage.
BUILD & CAPACITY
Build and user weight
The R2 weighs 36 kg (5 st 9 lb) and has a 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) maximum user weight. It feels more large than a lightweight walking pad, but make sure the user limit is enough for you.
PERFORMANCE
Motor and speed
The 1.25 CHP motor and 12 km/h (7.5 mph) top speed are better suited to walking and light jogging than sustained running. That matches the dual-purpose design: the extra speed gives you more flexibility than a walking-only pad, but the motor and belt are not aimed at regular high-mileage running.
HILL CLIMB TRAINING
Incline
The R2 does not have incline, so speed and session length are the main ways to make a walk harder. If you want harder walking without increasing pace, that is the feature you would be giving up.
SPACE & STORAGE
Folding, storage and moving
Folded dimensions are around 100 x 72 x 16.2 cm (39.4 x 28.3 x 6.4 in). At 36 kg (79 lb), the transport wheels matter if you plan to put it away after each session. My folding treadmill guide explains the main folding designs if storage is a priority.
CONNECTED TRAINING
Apps and controls
With the rail down, FootSense is WalkingPad’s position-based automatic speed control: it responds to where you are on the belt and speeds up or slows down automatically.
KS Fit is WalkingPad/KingSmith’s companion app for compatible machines, covering workout tracking and supported treadmill controls. You can also use the remote or Kinomap.
My smart treadmill guide explains the difference between simple app tracking and treadmill control.
EVERYDAY USE
Handrail and faster sessions
The folding handrail makes the 12 km/h (7.5 mph) top speed more practical and brings in a safety key for faster sessions. It does not change the fact that the 120 cm (47.2 in) running area is compact for running.
PEACE OF MIND
Warranty and after-sales cover
WalkingPad gives the R2 a one-year warranty, with an optional extension available.
The standard cover is fairly short for a model that may be used for both long walks and faster sessions. If you expect to use both walking and jogging modes frequently, I would factor the short standard cover into the buying decision.
SPACE CHECK
WalkingPad R2 dimensions and space required
The R2 is designed to reduce its storage footprint, but I would still check the exact folded or stored dimensions against the space where you intend to keep it.
| Dimensions in use | 145.2 x 72 x 103.2 cm (57.2 x 28.3 x 40.6 in) |
| Walking/running belt | 120 x 44 cm (47.2 x 17.3 in) |
| Frame type | 2-in-1 |
| Maximum user weight | 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) |
| Machine weight | 36 kg (79 lb) |
Although this treadmill has transport wheels, you still need to be comfortable lifting or tilting part of it to get it onto the wheels before you can move it.
TREADMILL COMPARISON
Compare the WalkingPad R2 with other treadmills
Use the selectors below to compare the WalkingPad R2 with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.
Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.
| Feature | WalkingPad R2 | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor power | 1.25 CHP | |||
| Maximum speed | 12 km/h (7.5 mph) | |||
| Incline | None | |||
| Running belt | 120 x 44 cm (47.2 x 17.3 in) | |||
| Maximum user weight | 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) | |||
| Frame type | 2-in-1 | |||
| Compatible apps | KS Fit, Kinomap | |||
| Assembled dimensions | 145.2 x 72 x 103.2 cm (57.2 x 28.3 x 40.6 in) |
The table is there to make the differences easier to scan. I would still judge each treadmill in the context of the training it is designed for rather than treating one higher figure as automatically better.
WalkingPad R2 final verdict
The WalkingPad R2 is one of the more flexible walking pads because it can cover desk walking and occasional jogging. The 12 km/h (7.5 mph) top speed gives you more room than a standard 6 km/h (3.7 mph) pad.
The 120 cm (47.2 in) running area and 1.25 CHP motor are the reasons I would stop short of recommending it for regular running mileage.
It also weighs 36 kg (79 lb), so the folding design does not make it effortless to move around the house.
If walking is the main job and you like having the option to jog, the R2 works well. If regular running or incline is important, I would look elsewhere.
