About Best Home Fitness

Hi there, I’m Ian, the guy behind Best Home Fitness.

I realise the name Best Home Fitness might sound a little generic, but it actually kind of summarises what I want the site to do: help find the best home fitness equipment for you.

That doesn’t mean recommending the most expensive machine with all the bells and whistles. For many people, a top of the range machine would simply be overkill. The aim here is to help you work out what you actually need based on your user profile, goals, budget, space and how you plan to use it.

You might already know you want a certain type of machine but need help understanding which specifications matter. Or you might be starting from scratch and simply know what results you want to see e.g. something that burns calories while being easy on your joints.

Either way, Best Home Fitness aims to make choosing the best equipment for YOU much easier.

A Bit About Me

For the past five years, I’ve worked in marketing for one of the UK’s leading fitness equipment brands.

During that time I’ve learnt a lot about fitness equipment, what’s available and the questions people commonly ask when buying. Not only was I marketing the fitness equipment, I was constantly using the machines myself in the showroom/gym to hit my own fitness goals. And of course, there’s a lot you learn from physically using the machines yourself.

Outside of work, I’m a keen runner. Around 10 miles is my sweet spot these days, and I enjoy both road races and trail running. I remember a day I used to avoid trail races because I knew I was unlikely to get a PB, but now they’re my favourite. I’ve even grown to enjoy the never-ending hill climbs you often get!

What You’ll Find Here

For now, Best Home Fitness is mainly focused on buying guides designed to explain what different specifications mean and what you should actually look for before spending your hard-earned money. These will then be joined by product reviews, recommendations and lots of other good stuff.

I also try to add a bit of personality to the guides. I realise some topics aren’t exactly the most thrilling, so I’d rather make them less painful to read than something that looks like it’s been written by a robot!
