BowFlex T9 quick verdict
The BowFlex T9 is aimed at regular runners who want plenty of room and a heavy-duty feel. The 3.5 CHP motor and 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) running area are the main reasons I would look at it.
However, with a large 196 x 94 cm (77.2 x 37 in) footprint you need to make sure you have somewhere spacious enough for it to go! It’s also not light at 128 kg (282 lb) so maybe consider a permanent home for it to avoid having to move it too often.

I judge the T9 in the context of the job it is designed to do – regular home running with a wider belt and flexible connected training. I focused on how the main features affect real buying decisions rather than treating every line of the specification as equally important.
- Training suitability – belt size, speed, incline and the overall specification for the kind of running, jogging or walking the machine is aimed at.
- Build and practicality – machine weight, user capacity, frame type, dimensions, storage and how realistic it is to place and move at home.
- Technology and ownership – console or controls, app choice, warranty and recurring themes in model-specific customer feedback.
For this review I focused on motor power, running area, incline, size, app support and warranty. I use the current UK specification as the starting point and focus on how the main features affect real buying decisions. I do not assume an overseas version is identical to the model sold here.

Who is the BowFlex T9 best for?
The T9 is a good fit if you run regularly and value an extra-wide running area, 3.5 CHP motor and flexible app choice.
If space is tight or longer warranty cover matters more than the wide belt, I would look at smaller alternatives.
What Stands Out
Extra-wide running area – The 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) belt gives you more lateral room than many home treadmills.
Motor suits regular running – The motor is well suited to regular home running.
Flexible app choice – JRNY, Kinomap and Zwift app compatibility give you several ways to train interactively.
Heavy-duty build – The 128 kg (20 st 2 lb) chassis and 158.8 kg (25 st 0 lb) user limit make the T9 a sturdy machine for high intensity workouts.
Things to consider
It’s big! – The machine’s footprint is 196 x 94 cm (77.2 x 37 in) footprint, so make sure you have enough space.
Getting it into position – At 128 kg (282 lb), delivery and assembly need planning. Couriers will not take this machine up any stairs.
A CLOSER LOOK
How the BowFlex T9 performs in key areas
RUNNING COMFORT
Running area
The 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) running area is one of the T9’s clearest strengths. The extra width should feel noticeably less restrictive for larger users and anyone who likes more lateral room.
BUILD & CAPACITY
Build and user weight
At 128 kg (20 st 2 lb) with a 158.8 kg (25 st 0 lb) user limit, the T9 is heavy-duty. That is appropriate for a treadmill with a wide running area and not something I would mark down unless you expect to move it frequently.
PERFORMANCE
Motor and speed
The 3.5 CHP motor and 20 km/h (12.4 mph) top speed are a strong match for regular home running, and the wide 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) running area gives runners plenty of room.
I would still judge it against the heaviest user and total weekly use, but motor power is not a missing specification on this model.
HILL CLIMB TRAINING
Incline
A true 15% incline gives useful hill and interval range. The quick-response controls also matter more here than the raw number because they make changes easier during faster sessions.
SPACE & STORAGE
Frame and storage
SoftDrop folding reduces the stored length to around 123.5 cm (48.6 in). That helps, but a 95 cm (37.4 in) stored width means you still need a heavy-duty corner for it. My folding treadmill guide explains the main folding designs if storage is a priority.
CONNECTED TRAINING
Apps and subscriptions
JRNY is BowFlex’s connected training app.
Kinomap and Zwift are also supported, so the app freedom is a major strength and you can keep using a preferred platform rather than making the treadmill much less useful if you stop one membership.
My smart treadmill guide explains the difference between basic syncing, live treadmill data and automatic machine control.
BowFlex also lists Apple Fitness, Apple Health, Google Fit and Samsung Health in its T6/T9 connectivity information alongside JRNY, Peloton, Kinomap and Zwift.
EVERYDAY USE
Console and controls
The 7-inch LCD is intentionally standard. I quite like that on a treadmill with strong external app support because you are not forced to pay for a giant built-in display.
BowFlex also lists Apple Fitness, Apple Health, Google Fit and Samsung Health in its T6/T9 connectivity information alongside JRNY, Peloton, Kinomap and Zwift.
PEACE OF MIND
Warranty and after-sales cover
The home labour and parts warranty is 2 years which is about standard for this level of treadmill. However, the motor warranty of 3 years is a bit shorter than I’d expect – 5 years or more with many other manufacturers.
SPACE CHECK
BowFlex T9 dimensions and space required
The T9 folds to reclaim some floor space between sessions, but folding does not remove the need to plan for its full width and the room required to use it safely.
| Dimensions in use | 196 x 94 x 171.6 cm (77.2 x 37.0 x 67.6 in) |
| Running area | 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22.0 in) |
| Frame type | Fold-Up Deck |
| Maximum user weight | 158.80 kg (25 st 0 lb) |
| Machine weight | 128 kg (282 lb) |
Although this treadmill has transport wheels, you still need to be comfortable lifting or tilting part of it to get it onto the wheels before you can move it.
Because the treadmill’s boxed weight will be over 80 kg, couriers will not take it up any stairs during delivery.
TREADMILL COMPARISON
Compare the BowFlex T9 with other treadmills
Use the selectors below to compare the BowFlex T9 with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.
Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.
| Feature | BowFlex T9 | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor power | 3.5 CHP | |||
| Maximum speed | 20 km/h (12.4 mph) | |||
| Incline | 15% | |||
| Running belt | 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22.0 in) | |||

| Assembled dimensions | 196 x 94 x 171.6 cm (77.2 x 37.0 x 67.6 in) |
The table is there to make the differences easier to scan. I would still judge each treadmill in the context of the training it is designed for rather than treating one higher figure as automatically better.
BowFlex T9 final verdict
The BowFlex T9 is a good fit if you want a large, heavy-duty treadmill with an extra-wide running area. The 3.5 CHP motor and 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) belt are a strong combination for regular home running.
JRNY, Kinomap and Zwift give you good app flexibility, so the connected side is not tied to one platform.
If you have the room and value the wider belt, the T9 has a clear reason to choose it. If space matters more, I would consider smaller alternatives.

BowFlex T9 FAQ
Is the BowFlex T9 suitable for tall runners?
Yes. The 152 x 56 cm (59.8 x 22 in) running area is particularly generous and should suit many taller runners, longer strides and users who prefer more lateral space.
Is the BowFlex T9 suitable for heavier runners?
The maximum user weight is about 158.8 kg (25 st 0 lb), which is a high home-use capacity. If the heaviest user is close to that figure, I would look at a higher-capacity treadmill for frequent training.
Is the BowFlex T9 suitable for daily running?
The wide running area, heavy-duty build, 3.5 CHP motor and 20 km/h (12.4 mph) top speed make it a strong candidate for frequent home running.
What is JRNY?
JRNY is BowFlex’s connected training app. The T9 also supports third-party options including Kinomap, Zwift and Peloton, so you are not tied to JRNY alone. Check the exact level of treadmill control offered by each app.
What warranty does the BowFlex T9 have in the UK?
The warranty is 2 years parts and 2 years labour.
