Peloton Tread quick verdict
The Peloton Tread is aimed at runners who want Peloton classes to be a big part of their training. The 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) running area, 3 CHP motor and 20.1 km/h (12.5 mph) top speed give you enough room and pace for regular home running.
The treadmill makes much less sense if you are not interested in the Peloton platform. It is a fixed 130 kg (287 lb) machine, so I would also make sure you have a permanent space for it before ordering.

I judge the Tread in the context of the job it is designed to do – regular home running built around Peloton guided classes and automatic workout adjustments. I focused on how the main features affect real buying decisions rather than treating every line of the specification as equally important.
- Training suitability – belt size, speed, incline and the overall specification for the kind of running, jogging or walking the machine is aimed at.
- Build and practicality – machine weight, user capacity, frame type, dimensions, storage and how realistic it is to place and move at home.
- Technology and ownership – console or controls, app choice, warranty and recurring themes in model-specific customer feedback.
For this review I focused on motor power, running area, controls, incline, screen, membership and warranty. I use the current UK specification as the starting point and focus on how the main features affect real buying decisions. I do not assume an overseas version is identical to the model sold here.

Enter a few details and I will check them against the product information for this treadmill. Treat the result as a buying aid rather than a manufacturer guarantee.
Who is the Peloton Tread best for?
The Peloton Tread is a good fit if coached Peloton sessions are central to how you want to train.
If you mainly want manual running, open third-party app choice or a folding treadmill, I would look elsewhere.
What Stands Out
Class-led controls – Speed, incline, jump controls and auto-incline are designed to work naturally with coached Peloton sessions.
Spacious running area – The 150 cm (59.1 in) length belt gives you plenty of room – ideal for sprinting and users with longer strides.
Rotating screen – The 21.5-inch screen rotates so you can follow strength, mobility and other off-treadmill workouts.
Motor suits regular running – The motor and 12.5 mph top speed are well matched to regular home running.
Things to consider
Peloton is central to the experience – The classes and personalised features are a big part of what you are paying for, so make sure you want that ecosystem long term.
Needs a permanent training space – It doesn’t fold up so make sure you have a permanent home for it. Check your room dimensions and access before ordering.
Limited third-party choice – If direct Zwift or Kinomap treadmill training matters to you, this is not the machine I would choose.
A CLOSER LOOK
How the Peloton Tread performs in key areas
RUNNING COMFORT
Running area
The 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) running area is a good size for regular home running. The 150 cm (59.1 in) length gives taller users and longer strides plenty of room, while the 50 cm (19.7 in) width is a good size for home running.
BUILD & CAPACITY
Build and user weight
The Tread weighs 130 kg (20 st 7 lb) and has a 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) maximum user weight. It is a heavy-duty fixed treadmill, so I would plan to leave it in one place.
PERFORMANCE
Motor and speed
The 3 CHP motor and 20.1 km/h (12.5 mph) top speed are enough for regular home running.
The Peloton app is Peloton’s own training platform for classes and workout tracking. The bigger question is whether you will use Peloton classes enough to justify making the platform part of the purchase.
HILL CLIMB TRAINING
Incline
The powered incline reaches 12.5%. Auto-incline can follow instructor cues during compatible classes, or you can adjust it yourself from the controls. The practical benefit is that classes can change effort without relying only on speed, while manual control remains available when you are not following a coached session.
SPACE & STORAGE
Footprint, delivery and setup
The Tread measures 173 x 84 cm (68.1 x 33.1 in) and does not fold, so it needs a permanent training space. Peloton includes delivery and setup where access is safe, but measure the route before delivery day.
CONNECTED TRAINING
Screen, apps and subscriptions
The 21.5-inch Full HD touchscreen rotates for off-treadmill classes. The training experience is centred on Peloton, so I would only pay for this setup if you expect to use the classes regularly. My smart treadmill guide explains the difference between simple syncing and connected treadmill control.
Peloton can connect workout data with Apple Health, Garmin Connect and Fitbit, while Peloton workouts can also be shared with Strava.
EVERYDAY USE
Controls, workouts and heart rate
The speed and incline controls let you make changes without relying on the touchscreen. You can also pair a heart-rate monitor or use the Peloton Watch app. The physical controls are especially helpful during faster changes because you do not need to tap through on-screen menus while running. Heart-rate pairing adds another way to follow effort, but it is not required for normal use.
PEACE OF MIND
Warranty and after-sales cover
The warranty covers the touchscreen and most original components for 12 months, the drive motor and walking belt for three years, and the frame for five years.
The 12-month cover on most components is the figure I would pay closest attention to at this price.
SPACE CHECK
Peloton Tread dimensions and space required
The Tread needs a permanent training space. I would plan around the published footprint rather than assuming it can be moved out of the way between sessions.
| Dimensions in use | 173 x 84 x 165.1 cm (68.1 x 33.1 x 65 in) |
| Running area | 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) |
| Frame type | Fixed Frame |
| Maximum user weight | 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) |
| Machine weight | 130 kg (287 lb) |
Although this treadmill has transport wheels, you still need to be comfortable lifting or tilting part of it to get it onto the wheels before you can move it.
Because the treadmill’s boxed weight will be over 80 kg, couriers will not take it up any stairs during delivery.
TREADMILL COMPARISON
Compare the Peloton Tread with other treadmills
Use the selectors below to compare the Peloton Tread with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.
Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.
| Feature | Peloton Tread | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor power | 3.0 CHP | |||
| Maximum speed | 20.10 km/h (12.5 mph) | |||
| Incline | 12.50% | |||
| Running belt | 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) | |||
| Maximum user weight | 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) | |||
| Frame type | Fixed Frame | |||
| Compatible apps | Peloton, Strava, Apple Health, Garmin Connect, Fitbit | |||
| Assembled dimensions | 173 x 84 x 165.1 cm (68.1 x 33.1 x 65 in) |
The table is there to make the differences easier to scan. I would still judge each treadmill in the context of the training it is designed for rather than treating one higher figure as automatically better.
Peloton Tread final verdict
The Peloton Tread is a good fit if Peloton classes are central to the reason you are buying. The 3 CHP motor and 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) running area give you a good setup for regular home running.
The controls, auto-incline and rotating screen all work best when you are following coached sessions, which is where the treadmill separates itself from a more standard machine.
The fixed 130 kg (287 lb) frame needs a permanent space, while the 12-month cover on most components is shorter than I would like at this price.
If you already enjoy Peloton training, the Tread is easy to understand. If you mainly want manual running or open third-party app choice, I would look elsewhere.

Peloton Tread FAQ
Is the Peloton Tread suitable for regular running?
Yes. The 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in) running area, 20.1 km/h (12.5 mph) top speed and 3 CHP brushed DC motor are all consistent with regular home running. The bigger question is whether you also want the Peloton training platform.
How much incline does the Peloton Tread have?
The incline range is 0 to 12.5%. Auto-incline can also follow instructor cues during compatible Peloton sessions.
Do I need a Peloton membership to use the Tread?
The treadmill can still perform basic treadmill functions, but the classes, personalised training and much of the connected experience are tied to Peloton membership. Check the current membership terms before buying.
Can the Peloton Tread use Zwift or Kinomap?
Peloton training and Strava performance tracking are supported; I could not verify Zwift or Kinomap treadmill integration. I would only treat an app as supported when Peloton confirms it.
What warranty does the Peloton Tread have in the UK?
The warranty covers the touchscreen and most components for 12 months, the drive motor and walking belt for three years, and the frame for five years. An optional service plan is available for longer protection.
What is the Peloton app?
The Peloton app is Peloton’s own training platform for classes and workout tracking. The Tread is designed around that ecosystem, and the full connected experience depends on the current Peloton membership options.
