WalkingPad Z1 quick verdict
The WalkingPad Z1 is a walking-focused model for desk walking and everyday steps. The 121 cm (47.6 in) belt is a good length for walking, while the 23 kg (51 lb) weight and low folded height make it easier to store than many heavier walking pads.
The 6 km/h (3.7 mph) top speed and lack of incline keep it firmly in walking territory. If you think you will want to jog later, I would choose something else from the start.

I judge the Z1 in the context of the job it is designed to do – everyday walking and under-desk use where compact storage is the priority. I focused on how the main features affect real buying decisions rather than treating every line of the specification as equally important.
- Walking suitability – belt length and width, speed, controls and whether the machine fits the way you plan to accumulate steps.
- Build and practicality – machine weight, user capacity, frame type, dimensions, storage and how realistic it is to place and move at home.
- Technology and ownership – console or controls, app choice, warranty and recurring themes in model-specific customer feedback.
For this review I focused on walking area, motor, speed, folding, controls and storage. I use the current UK specification as the starting point and focus on how the main features affect real buying decisions. I do not assume an overseas version is identical to the model sold here.

Who is the WalkingPad Z1 best for?
The Z1 is a good fit if you want a walking pad for desk use, daily steps and low-level storage.
If you want incline or think jogging may matter later, I would choose a different model.
What Stands Out
More room for a natural walking stride – you’ll struggle to find other walking pads with a longer walking area than this. This should accomodate most stride lengths/user heights.
Easy storage – folds to around 13.8 cm (5.4 in) high so should fit under most beds or sofas – remember to measure your space first though.
‘Relatively’ light – I use the word ‘relatively’ as 23 kg (51 lb) is still a decent weight but is lighter than many other pads out there, which can be nearer 30 kg (66 lb).
App connectivity – KS Fit covers the brand’s own tracking while Kinomap is also compatible.
Things to consider
Narrower belt needs a steadier stride – The belt is compact, so I would look for something wider if you naturally move from side to side.
Better suited to lighter walking use – The motor power is just about enough, but I would be cautious about long daily sessions and/or heavier users.
A CLOSER LOOK
How the WalkingPad Z1 performs in key areas
RUNNING COMFORT
Walking area
The 121 x 40 cm (47.6 x 15.7 in) walking area gives you a good amount of length for walking. The 40 cm (15.7 in) width is where you notice the compact design most.
BUILD & CAPACITY
Build and user weight
The Z1 weighs 23 kg (3 st 9 lb) and has a 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) maximum user weight. If you are close to that limit and plan long daily sessions, I would look at a higher-capacity walking pad.
PERFORMANCE
Motor and speed
The 0.75 CHP motor and 6 km/h (3.7 mph) top speed make the Z1 a walking-focused machine. That suits normal desk walking and everyday steps. It is enough for steady walking, but I would not pair this specification with very long daily sessions for a heavier user.
HILL CLIMB TRAINING
Incline
The Z1 does not have incline, so speed and session length are the main ways to make a walk harder. If you want more intensity without walking faster, the lack of incline is the main limitation to be aware of.
SPACE & STORAGE
Folding, storage and moving
The Z1 folds to about 81 x 56 x 13.8 cm (31.9 x 22 x 5.4 in) and weighs 23 kg (51 lb). At 13.8 cm (5.4 in) high it should fit under some beds or sofas, but measure the clearance first. Transport wheels help when you need to reposition it. My folding treadmill guide explains the main folding designs if storage is a priority.
CONNECTED TRAINING
Apps and controls
You can use the remote or KS Fit app, and Kinomap compatibility is also available. For a simple daily walk, I would probably use the remote most of the time.
My smart treadmill guide explains the difference between simple app tracking and treadmill control.
EVERYDAY USE
Display and tracking
The display shows the basics such as speed, time, distance and calories. KS Fit can keep a longer-term record if you want to track a daily walking habit. That keeps the walking pad itself uncluttered, while the app is more useful if you care about totals over several days rather than just the current session.
PEACE OF MIND
Warranty and after-sales cover
WalkingPad gives the Z1 a one-year warranty, with an optional extension available.
One year is fairly short, so I would follow the maintenance guidance and pay attention to seller support. Keep proof of purchase as well, because clear retailer support matters more when the standard warranty period is short.
SPACE CHECK
WalkingPad Z1 dimensions and space required
The Z1 is designed to reduce its storage footprint, but I would still check the exact folded or stored dimensions against the space where you intend to keep it.
| Dimensions in use | 142.5 x 56 x 10.6 cm (56.1 x 22.0 x 4.2 in) |
| Running area | 121 x 40 cm (47.6 x 15.7 in) |
| Frame type | Walking Pad |
| Maximum user weight | 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) |
| Machine weight | 23 kg (51 lb) |
Although this treadmill has transport wheels, you still need to be comfortable lifting or tilting part of it to get it onto the wheels before you can move it.
TREADMILL COMPARISON
Compare the WalkingPad Z1 with other treadmills
Use the selectors below to compare the WalkingPad Z1 with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.
Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.
| Feature | WalkingPad Z1 | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor power | 0.75 CHP | |||
| Maximum speed | 6 km/h (3.7 mph) | |||
| Incline | None | |||
| Running belt | 121 x 40 cm (47.6 x 15.7 in) | |||
| Maximum user weight | 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) | |||
| Frame type | Walking Pad | |||
| Compatible apps | KS Fit, Kinomap | |||
| Assembled dimensions | 142.5 x 56 x 10.6 cm (56.1 x 22.0 x 4.2 in) |
The table is there to make the differences easier to scan. I would still judge each treadmill in the context of the training it is designed for rather than treating one higher figure as automatically better.
WalkingPad Z1 final verdict
The WalkingPad Z1 is a good choice if you want a simple walking pad for desk use and daily steps. The 121 cm (47.6 in) belt gives you a good walking length, while the 23 kg (51 lb) weight and low folded height make storage fairly manageable.
The 6 km/h (3.7 mph) top speed keeps it strictly walking-focused, and there is no incline.
The 0.75 CHP motor is fine for normal walking, but I would be cautious about long daily sessions if you are close to the 110 kg (17 st 5 lb) user limit.
If walking and easy storage are the priorities, the Z1 does the job. If you want jogging or incline later, choose something else now.

WalkingPad Z1 FAQ
Is the WalkingPad Z1 suitable for walking every day?
Yes, that is exactly the type of use it is designed for. The 6 km/h (3.7 mph) top speed and 121 cm (47.6 in) belt suit daily walking, including under-desk sessions. If the heaviest user is close to the 110 kg (243 lb) maximum, I would look at a higher-capacity walking pad.
Can you run on the WalkingPad Z1?
No. The Z1 is designed for walking and tops out at 6 km/h (3.7 mph). If you want to jog or run, choose a 2-in-1 model with a handrail and higher speed.
How easy is the WalkingPad Z1 to store?
It folds to around 81 x 56 x 13.8 cm (31.9 x 22 x 5.4 in) and weighs 23 kg (51 lb). Check the clearance under your furniture and the floor surface you will move it across before buying.
What is KS Fit?
KS Fit is WalkingPad/KingSmith’s companion app for compatible machines. It connects to your phone for workout tracking and supported treadmill controls. The Z1 also supports Kinomap as a separate interactive training option.
What warranty does the WalkingPad Z1 have?
The warranty is one year, with an optional extension available.
