NordicTrack T Series 5 quick verdict
The T Series 5 is aimed at walking, jogging and lighter running rather than hard, high-mileage training. The 2.6 CHP motor, 16 km/h (9.9 mph) top speed and 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) running area fit that job well.
This is a fixed frame machine so if you need to fold the treadmill away or want a longer, wider belt for regular running, I would look at the NordicTrack Commercial range instead.

I judge the T Series 5 in the context of the job it is designed to do – walking, jogging and lighter running with iFIT available through your own device.
I focused on how the main features affect real buying decisions rather than treating every line of the specification as equally important.
- Training suitability – belt size, speed, incline and the overall specification for the kind of running, jogging or walking the machine is aimed at.
- Build and practicality – machine weight, user capacity, frame type, dimensions, storage and how realistic it is to place and move at home.
- Technology and ownership – console or controls, app choice, warranty and recurring themes in model-specific customer feedback.
For this review I focused on motor power, running area, speed, incline, fixed-frame size and warranty. I use the current UK specification as the starting point and focus on how the main features affect real buying decisions. I do not assume an overseas version is identical to the model sold here.
Is this treadmill right for me?
Enter a few details and I will check them against the product information for this treadmill. Treat the result as a buying aid rather than a manufacturer guarantee.
Who is the NordicTrack T Series 5 best for?
The T Series 5 is a good fit for walking, jogging and lighter running where you are happy to use your own device for iFIT.
If you need folding storage, a 152 cm (59.8 in) running belt or more than 16 km/h (9.9 mph), I would move up to a larger treadmill.
What Stands Out
Better suited to lighter running – The motor is a good match for walking, jogging and lighter running.
Decent running length – The 140 cm (55.1 in) belt is longer than many compact entry-level treadmills.
Simple console – no need to pay for a large built-in screen if you are happy with a no frills display with a device holder for your phone or tablet.
Things to consider
Limited pace for harder running – make sure this max speed doesn’t restrict you during interval sessions.
Taller users – the 140 x 40 cm (55.1 x 15.7 in) running area is by no means small but taller users (6 ft +) may prefer a tad more room e.g. 150 x 50 cm (59.1 x 19.7 in).
Non-folding – It does not fold and has a 174 x 77.5 cm (68.5 x 30.5 in) footprint. If you need that floor space outside of workouts look for a folding treadmill instead.
Not aimed at hard running – If regular faster running is the plan, I would choose a treadmill with a more powerful motor. Use my Treadmill Finder tool to help find one more suitable
A CLOSER LOOK
How the NordicTrack T Series 5 performs in key areas
RUNNING COMFORT
Running area
The 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) running area is a good size for walking, jogging and lighter running. I would want a longer and wider belt for regular faster running.
BUILD & CAPACITY
Build and user weight
The maximum user weight is 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) and the treadmill weighs 71.4 kg (11 st 3 lb). The frame does not fold, so make sure you have a permanent place for it.
PERFORMANCE
Motor and speed
The 2.6 CHP motor and 16 km/h (9.9 mph) top speed suit walking, jogging and lighter running. I would choose a faster, more powerful model for regular hard running. That makes the T Series 5 a better fit for people mixing walking and jogging with some lighter running than anyone training hard at high speed several times a week.
HILL CLIMB TRAINING
Incline
The powered incline reaches 10%, giving you a straightforward way to make walking and running harder. iFIT can adjust it automatically during supported sessions. It also lets you raise effort at walking and jogging speeds, so you do not have to rely on faster pace every time you want a tougher session.
SPACE & STORAGE
Frame and storage
The T Series 5 has a fixed frame, so you cannot fold it to reclaim floor space. That is fine in a dedicated training area but less convenient in a multi-use room. If the room has another purpose, measure the permanent footprint rather than assuming you can put the treadmill away between sessions.
CONNECTED TRAINING
Apps and subscriptions
iFIT is NordicTrack’s main connected training platform. On the T Series 5 you use your own phone or tablet for it rather than a built-in touchscreen.
I like that if you already own a good device, although the main training features still depend on iFIT. My smart treadmill guide explains the different levels of connected training.
iFIT can also sync workout data with Strava, Garmin Connect and Apple Health.
EVERYDAY USE
Console and controls
The 5-inch LCD keeps the main workout figures visible while your phone or tablet handles iFIT. It is a simple setup, which suits this treadmill.
iFIT can also sync workout data with Strava, Garmin Connect and Apple Health.
PEACE OF MIND
Warranty and after-sales cover
The warranty is lifetime on the frame, 10 years on the motor and 2 years parts and labour when registered within 28 days.
That is strong cover at this level. Make sure you register within 28 days.
SPACE CHECK
NordicTrack T Series 5 dimensions and space required
The T Series 5 needs a permanent training space. I would plan around the published footprint rather than assuming it can be moved out of the way between sessions.
| Dimensions in use | 174 x 77.5 x 123.6 cm (68.5 x 30.5 x 48.7 in) |
| Running area | 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) |
| Frame type | Fixed Frame |
| Maximum user weight | 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) |
| Machine weight | 71.4 kg (157 lb) |
Although this treadmill has transport wheels, you still need to be comfortable lifting or tilting part of it to get it onto the wheels before you can move it.
TREADMILL COMPARISON
Compare the NordicTrack T Series 5 with other treadmills
Use the selectors below to compare the NordicTrack T Series 5 with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.
Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.
| Feature | NordicTrack T Series 5 | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Motor power | 2.6 CHP | |||
| Maximum speed | 16 km/h (9.9 mph) | |||
| Incline | 10% | |||
| Running belt | 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) | |||
| Maximum user weight | 136 kg (21 st 6 lb) | |||
| Frame type | Fixed Frame | |||
| Compatible apps | iFIT, Strava, Garmin Connect, Apple Health | |||
| Assembled dimensions | 174 x 77.5 x 123.6 cm (68.5 x 30.5 x 48.7 in) |
The table is there to make the differences easier to scan. I would still judge each treadmill in the context of the training it is designed for rather than treating one higher figure as automatically better.
NordicTrack T Series 5 final verdict
The T Series 5 works well for walking, jogging and lighter running if you are happy to use your own device for iFIT and have room for a fixed-frame treadmill.
The 2.6 CHP motor and 16 km/h (9.9 mph) top speed suit that lighter brief, while the 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) running area is adequate without being especially roomy.
The warranty is a strong point at this level. The fixed frame is not, if the room needs to serve another purpose.
If regular faster running or folding storage is already important, I would move up to a larger model rather than try to make the T Series 5 do a job it was not designed for.

NordicTrack T Series 5 FAQ
Is the NordicTrack T Series 5 suitable for tall runners?
The 140 x 46 cm (55.1 x 18.1 in) running area can work for a normal stride, but tall runners with a long stride may prefer a longer and wider running area for regular running.
Is the NordicTrack T Series 5 suitable for daily running?
I would see it as better suited to walking, jogging and lighter running than repeated high-mileage training. The 2.6 CHP motor suits that lighter-running brief, but the running-area size and overall positioning matter too.
How much space does the NordicTrack T Series 5 need?
The important point is that it uses a Fixed Frame rather than a folding deck. Make sure the in-use dimensions work as a permanent part of the room before buying.
Can I use iFIT on the NordicTrack T Series 5 without a built-in touchscreen?
Yes, the connected setup is designed around your own phone or tablet. That can be a positive if you prefer replacing your device independently of the treadmill.
What warranty does the NordicTrack T Series 5 have in the UK?
The warranty is lifetime on the frame, 10 years on the motor and 2 years parts and labour when registered within 28 days.
What is iFIT?
iFIT is the main connected training platform used by NordicTrack. It provides guided workouts and can adjust treadmill speed and incline automatically during compatible sessions. On the T Series 5 you use it through your own phone or tablet.
