Echelon Stride 6 quick verdict

The Stride 6 is aimed at those who run regularly but are a bit pushed for space. It gives you enough room for running while folding down flat to make storage easier.

If you do not need such a compact folding design, you could get away with a heavier non-flat folding treadmill around the same price. In that case, the warranty and connected training may matter more.

Measurements

Who is the Echelon Stride 6 best for?

The Stride 6 is a good fit for regular runners who need to put their treadmill away between sessions rather than leave it set up all the time.

If you have room to leave a treadmill set up permanently, I would also look at heavier non-flat-folding models around the same price. You may get a stronger motor, a higher user limit or more straightforward warranty terms without paying for a folding system you do not need.

What Stands Out

running area in a flat-folding design – A 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in) running area is roomy enough for regular running, yet the treadmill folds down to roughly 25 cm (9.8 in) high when you need the floor space back.

Auto-folding makes regular storage more realistic – The treadmill folds itself down rather than relying on you to lift a heavy running platform, and it has transport wheels for moving it once folded.

Easy-to-reach controls – You can change speed and incline from the treadmill controls while you train. The incline is given as 12 adjustment levels, not a percentage.

Things to consider

Echelon Fit is the main training app – Strava, Apple Health and Fitbit can sync fitness data, but there is no direct Zwift or Kinomap treadmill integration.

Heavier users need to check the limit – The maximum user weight is 136 kg (21 st 6 lb).

A CLOSER LOOK

How the Echelon Stride 6 performs in key areas

RUNNING COMFORT

Running area

The 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in) running belt gives you enough room for running and should be long enough for taller runners too. That is a good size for a treadmill that folds down this flat.

BUILD & CAPACITY

Build and user weight

The maximum user weight is 136 kg (21 st 6 lb). If you are a heavier runner, make sure that limit is enough for you before buying.

PERFORMANCE

Motor and speed

The 2.5 CHP brushless motor and 20 km/h (12.4 mph) top speed are enough for regular home running.

If you are a heavier runner or expect to cover a lot of miles each week, I would look for a treadmill with more motor power.

HILL CLIMB TRAINING

Incline

The Stride 6 has 12 incline levels, giving you a useful way to make hill walking and running harder without simply adding more speed.

Levels means 12 adjustment increments rather than 12%, and Echelon does not state the maximum gradient percentage.

You can change the incline from the controls while you train.

SPACE & STORAGE

Frame and storage

Storage is one reason to consider the Stride 6. It folds down to about 25 cm (9.8 in) high and has transport wheels to help move it. That is still too high for most under-bed or under-sofa storage, so measure the space first. My folding treadmill guide explains the main folding designs if storage is a priority.

CONNECTED TRAINING

Apps and subscriptions

Echelon Fit is Echelon’s own training app and the main platform for connected workouts. Strava, Apple Health and Fitbit can sync fitness data, but there is no direct Zwift or Kinomap treadmill integration.

If connected training matters to you, my smart treadmill guide explains the difference between simple syncing and full treadmill control.

EVERYDAY USE

Console and controls

There is no built-in touchscreen, so you use your own phone or tablet. Speed, incline and volume are handled from the treadmill controls, which keeps the main settings easy to reach while you train.

Echelon Fit is Echelon's own training app, and the Echelon ecosystem can sync workout data with Strava, Apple Health and Fitbit.

PEACE OF MIND

Warranty and after-sales cover

The warranty is 1 year comprehensive cover, plus 5 years motor and 10 years frame; active Premier members can receive additional extended coverage under current terms.

The motor and frame cover is decent, but the standard comprehensive cover is only one year. Premier membership can extend it, but because that depends on keeping the membership active I would not value it the same as an unconditional five-year warranty.

SPACE CHECK

Echelon Stride 6 dimensions and space required

In use, the Stride 6 takes up about 165 x 81 cm (65 x 31.9 in), so you still need a decent amount of floor space while you are running.

Dimensions in use165 x 81 x 145 cm (65.0 x 31.9 x 57.1 in)
Running area152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in)
Frame typeFlat Folding
Maximum user weight136 kg (21 st 6 lb)

The Stride 6 has vertical and horizontal transport wheels to make repositioning easier once it is folded.

Because the treadmill’s boxed weight will be over 80 kg, couriers will not take it up any stairs during delivery.

TREADMILL COMPARISON

Compare the Echelon Stride 6 with other treadmills

Use the selectors below to compare the Stride 6 with up to three treadmills I have reviewed. The first column stays fixed to this model.

Choose treadmills to compare Select up to three reviewed models.

Choose at least one treadmill above to show the comparison table.

Feature Echelon Stride 6
Motor power 2.5 CHP
Maximum speed 20 km/h (12.4 mph)
Incline 12 levels
Running belt 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in)
Maximum user weight 136 kg (21 st 6 lb)
Frame type Flat Folding
Compatible apps Echelon Fit, Strava, Apple Health, Fitbit
Assembled dimensions 165 x 81 x 145 cm (65.0 x 31.9 x 57.1 in)

I would pay closest attention to motor power, running area, user limit, warranty and how each treadmill folds rather than simply choosing the one with the biggest numbers.

Echelon Stride 6 final verdict

The Stride 6 is a good option if you run regularly but do not have room to leave a treadmill set up. The 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in) running area gives you enough space for running, while the flat auto-fold design is what sets it apart.

The 2.5 CHP motor is enough for regular home running, but heavier runners or anyone covering a lot of miles each week may be better off with something more powerful.

Echelon Fit is also central to the connected side, so I would check that it suits the way you want to train.

The warranty is one year comprehensive, with five years on the motor and 10 years on the frame. Premier membership can extend the comprehensive cover, but I would not value that the same as an unconditional longer warranty.

If you need the flat-folding design, the Stride 6 has a clear reason to buy it. If you do not, I would look at heavier non-flat-folding treadmills around the same price before deciding.

Echelon Stride 6 FAQ

Is the Echelon Stride 6 suitable for tall runners?

The 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in) running area gives plenty of length for a normal running stride. If you are particularly tall or have a long stride, I would still try a belt this size before buying if possible.

Is the Echelon Stride 6 suitable for regular running?

Yes. The 2.5 CHP motor, 20 km/h (12.4 mph) top speed and 152 x 52 cm (59.8 x 20.5 in) running area are a practical combination for regular home running. Heavier runners or very high weekly mileage may justify a stronger motor.

How easy is the Echelon Stride 6 to store?

It folds down to around 25 cm (9.8 in) high and has transport wheels to help move it. That is much easier to store than a standard fold-up treadmill, but it is still too tall for most under-bed or under-sofa storage.

Do I need an Echelon membership to use the Stride 6?

Echelon Fit is the main training platform. Strava, Apple Health and Fitbit can sync fitness data, but check the current membership terms if you plan to use the treadmill without a subscription.

What warranty does the Echelon Stride 6 have in the UK?

The warranty is one year comprehensive, five years on the motor and 10 years on the frame. Premier membership can add extended comprehensive cover under the current terms.

What is Echelon Fit?

Echelon Fit is Echelon’s own training app and the main platform for its connected workouts. Strava, Apple Health and Fitbit can sync fitness data, but that is different from direct treadmill control.
